Tivvy Archive was born in 2008 to expand on the relatively small amount of data recorded on the club’s official website. With technical wizardry and hosting both provided by Keith Sergeant, the database gradually grew into the website you see today.

While Keith stood down from active service in 2019, the site has continued to thrive, and a heartfelt thanks should be extended to all who have contributed. Over 50 volunteers have provided match reports, photographs and videos, and we have received invaluable help and advice from all corners of the interweb. In particular, we offer eternal gratitude to Tivvy stalwart Viv Curtis, to Rob Farley of The Grecian Archive, to Martin Clive of Devon & Exeter Past Football Teams, to Colin Goodwin at the Devon & Exeter Football League, and of course to Kerry Miller, who’s History of Tiverton Town FC helped lay the foundations of our database. To namecheck everyone that has played a part would take too long, but Nigel Davis, Ramsey Findlay and Marian Pile in particular have provided great motivation and support through the years, as has Hedley Steele, Simon Ellis and Jay Richardson.

With such a vast collection of data, inevitably there will be mistakes. Certainly, many of the early league tables do not quite tally, and there were a number of editorial errors on Kerry Miller’s book that came to light when looking more closely at the details. Thos that have been found have been corrected, but it is likely that others have slipped through the net. Further corrections will be made as and when errors come to light; in the meantime, Tivvy Archive provides an unmatched statistically history of the club as we sail on through the 21st Century.
