The unofficial archives of Tiverton Town Football Club
Steve Peters | |
30/11/1978 | |
Signed from Clevedon Town for a club-record fee Peters was a top-quality central defender who posessed pace, power and poise in equal measure. He was brought to the club as a replacement for Paul Tatterton who retired after the FA Cup match against Cardiff City, and quickly proved his worth with a string of brilliant performances. Sadly he picked up a serious knee injury in a match at Hastings in December 2003 which effectively ended his playing career, and his loss coincided (not coincidentally) with a serious downturn in form. Attemped a comeback the following season which was unsuccessful and he is now the manager at league rivals Cinderford Town, having also worked as part of the backroom staff at Almondsbury Town. |
