Tivvy came from a goal down to preserve their unbeaten start to our Dr. Martens campaign. Second half strikes for Kevin Nancekivell and record breaker Phil Everett secured a hard fought victory.Another below par first half performance put us under pressure as yet again we falied to impose ourselves. After Everett´s 10th minute shot was cleared off the line‚ the fans grew increasingly frustrated with a series of poor crosses. Steve Daly was caught in posseseion after 22 minutes by Jai Stanley whose beautifully placed pass sent Goodman through on goal. Paul Edwards saved his initial effort but the ball cannoned back onto Goodman and over the line. Just before half time Phil Everett´s ball into the box caused defender Paul O´ Brien to hesitate‚ giving Kevin Nancekivell the chance to set up Nathan Blamey for his first Tivvy goal. After the break Tivvy improved and once again hit our opponents early in the second half. Kevin Nancekivell picked the ball up on the edge of the Bedworth penalty area‚ he beat two defenders before playing a sweet 1-2 with Neil Saunders before fooling two more defenders and the ´keeper to leave himself an empty net to shoot into. From that point Tivvy were on top and sealed the points just after the hour with Phil Everett´s 304th - and record breaking - goal for the club. As the Bedworth defence stood appealing for offside‚ he calmly rounded Glover in the Bedworth goal to receive a standing ovation from the Tivvy team and the ecstatic crowd of 679.
